Aaron Sue

Bio

Aaron began his scientific career at Indiana University in Bloomington, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. During his undergraduate training, he did research in a materials chemistry lab under Dr. Sara Skrabalak. The Skrabalak Lab is interested in exploring the mechanisms of formations of metallic nanoparticles using solution-based and ultrasonic spray pyrolysis techniques. Aaron’s project specifically focused on factors that influence the morphology of bimetallic nanoparticles using the seeded co-reduction method. Additionally, he is still involved in ongoing research in the lab exploring results from some of his initial experiments.

Aaron is currently a graduate student at Northwestern University under the Interdepartmental Biological Sciences (IBiS) program. He recently joined a co-advisement between Richard Morimoto and Luís Amaral. His thesis project is exploring the intertissue communication of the heat shock response ( [HSR]{.caps} ) in the nematode C.elegans. The project aims to both alleviate diseased tissue through signalling from a distal tissue, as well as building the network of signalling proteins/molecules that are responsible for systemic regulation of the [HSR]{.caps} .
